Please quote your invoice number or the car's chassis number in the payment reference. If someone other than the buyer is paying, or one payment is a lump sum or covers more than one car, also email us, before or on the day you pay: use Reply all on the email we sent the invoice with, or email the invoicing address shown on it. Tell us who is paying (the name on the account the money comes from), the buyer named on the invoice, the invoice or chassis number of each car, and the amount for each car. We can't accept these details by WhatsApp or other chat apps.
Who Can Pay
Please pay for your car from an account in the name of the buyer on the invoice, by bank transfer or a transfer service (such as Wise or Revolut; others are fine). A joint account is fine if the buyer is one of its named holders. Quote the invoice number or the car's chassis number with every payment, and send a payment email where needed (see above).
A buying agent, related company or other person who has signed our Joint Liability Agreement for you, and whom we have accepted in writing, can also pay. Please ask us before they send any money. Under a Japanese tax rule, for cars shipped on or after 1 October 2026, payments from anyone else, or in cash, need a refundable 10% consumption tax security deposit until we receive your country's import document. PayPal Payments
PayPal is the fastest way to activate your account for bidding. The minimum deposit required is 150,000 yen or 15% of your maximum bid amount.
PayPal currently charges roughly 4.0–4.3% (about ¥6,190 on a ¥150,000 deposit). Rates can change — see www.paypal.com for current fees. For this amount, it's similar to international bank transfers when all costs are considered.
Payments via PayPal are for the services we provide to you (website access, translations and inspection services). Final payments for vehicles are only permitted via bank transfer.
